Empower our collective impact for Black History Month! The ETS Center for Advocacy and Philanthropy united with the BOLD BRG, organized a lunch & learn health series in collaboration with the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation, and the National Association for Mental Illness. These organizations need our financial support to help fund critical research, bring awareness and resources to individuals that are suffering from health complications. Your donation will fuel progress in cardiovascular health, kidney care, and mental wellness. Let's champion these vital organizations, donate now to make a lasting difference!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The first stop when seeing this reminder should be to check in with yourself and your own mental well-being. As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across the globe the needs of our communities have become clear. In honor of GiveTuesdayNow on May 5th, 2020 Bright Funds has put together the Coronavirus GivingTuesdayNow Fund. This Fund represents nonprofits addressing key issue areas identified by the Center for Disaster Philanthropy: Medical Needs, Mental Health, Children and Youth, Income and Basic Needs and Social Justice. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Given the ever-changing nature of this pandemic and widespread impact, the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund will evolve.

Every year in May, Mental Health Awareness Month provides a dedicated time to raise awareness about the realities of individuals living with mental illness and ways to manage and achieve mental wellness, while promoting early detection in our youth. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the mental health of people of all ages. In November 2020, the CDC reported that 44% of Americans were coping with either depression or anxiety, and our communities continue to feel those effects today. Now, more than ever, it is critical to reduce the stigma around mental health struggles -- because that stigma often prevents individuals from seeking help. Bright Funds has established the Mental Health Awareness Month Fund composed of pre-vetted nonprofits committed to raising mental health awareness. Through a single donation to the Fund, you will support a group of nonprofits that are providing direct services, conducting research, and educating the masses in order to challenge myths, biases, and discrimination about what mental health is - and what it is not. The composition of nonprofits in this fund is subject to change.

1 in 5 adults and 1 in 6 youth experience issues with mental health each year. Yet, approximately 50% of individuals with mental health issues do not seek treatment due to stigma, lack of awareness, and lack of access. Organizations around the world are working to remove barriers to mental health treatment.

LaunchDarkly Mental Wellness ERG's mission is to promote individual and collective mental wellness through various resources, events, and educational opportunities. We strive to increase awareness on mental wellness and to create an environment that promotes all aspects of this topic which includes but is not limited to: work wellness, interpersonal wellness, emotional wellness, and physical wellness. We also aim to de-stigmatize mental illness and to promote an environment that creates opportunities for individuals to openly speak up about their personal mental illness without fear of negative repercussions in the workplace.
